nana osaki is a punk singer who wants to debut with her band black stones (blast for short). nanaNana Osaki is a punk singer who wants to debut with her band Black Stones (BLAST for short). Nana was the lead vocalist in their old band with her boyfriend, Ren, and they lived together as lovers since she was 16. When Ren was offered a chance to debut in Tokyo as a replacement member of the popular band Trapnest (Toranesu in Japanese), Nana chose to cultivate her own band after Ren left her and Black Stones for Trapnest. Having too much pride to simply follow Ren to Tokyo and happily be a rockstar's girlfriend, she stayed behind. She leaves for Tokyo at the age of twenty, and to start her musical career. Nana Komatsu, the other Nana, is called with the nickname Hachi (after Hachikō) as she has weak mental characteristics that resemble a puppy. With a habit of falling in love at first sight all the time, Hachi has always depended on other people to help her. When her friends and then boyfriend leave for Tokyo, she decides to join them a year later after having saved enough money at the age of twenty. Nana and Hachi meet in a train by chance, both on their way to Tokyo. After a string of coincidences, they come to live together in an apartment numbered 707. Despite having contrasting characters and ideals, the Nanas like and respect each other. While the Black Stones begin to gain popularity at live gigs, other issues need resolving, especially in the areas of romance. The story of Nana revolves heavily on the romance and relationships of the two characters as one seeks fame and recognition while the other seeks love and happiness.

Diferenta de stil e insa imensa, si tot asa mi-am dat seama ca poate nu am vazut inca ceea ce cautam - de obicei, de la un astfel de anime te astepti la ceva fantasy/action, dar asta nu inseamna ca nu se poate strecura si putin romance/school in gen. Si asa, daca mai pui si o parte relativ mica de comedy, iti iese exact D.N.Angel. Cei care au produs serialul, Victor Entertainment (Xebec / Kadokawa Shoten / TV Tokyo), si-au pus si amprenta specifica asupra genului, si asa a iesit o dualitate intre baiatul simpatic ce merge la scoala, si ingerul cuceritor care fura inimile femeilor. Poveste Familiile Niwa si Hikari sunt, de generatii, intr-un continuu razboi dus in lumea artei: toate obiectele de arta celebre au anumite puteri, transmise de cel ce le-a creat, iar atunci cand ele incep sa se manifeste, lumea din jur se confrunta cu probleme ce sfideaza limita realului. Toti barbatii din familia Niwa mostenesc de la generatia anterioara puterea de a se transforma in ingerul Intunericului, Dark, care este cel mai abil hot al tuturor timpurilor. Principala sa ocupatie este de a fura toate acele obiecte de arta "speciale", si de a le sigila puterile, spre beneficiul comunitatii. La capatul opus, exista familia Hikari, o familie de artisti, care mostenesc in acelasi mod, puterea de a deveni ingerul Luminii, Krad, al carui singur scop este de a-l distruge pe Dark. In prezent, ingerul Dark este in posesia lui Daisuke Niwa, iar Krad se afla in Satoshi Hiwatari, care, pe langa faptul ca sunt colegi de scoala, incep sa aiba si un fel de prietenie ce incearca sa sfideze limitele conflictului. Personaje Daisuke Niwa Daisuke locuieste impreuna cu mama si bunicul sau, care il instruiesc, pe ascuns, in tainele necesare oricarui hot pentru a fi cu adevarat un specialist. Bineinteles, talentul innascut pentru asa ceva il ajuta sa vada mereu hibele sistemelor de securitate, si sa fie un maestru in gasit combinatiile ce deschid usi/etc. Cea mai mare surpriza a sa este atunci cand incepe sa se transforme, si se trezeste ca are parul de alta culoare si mult mai lung, iar corpul sau arata acum mult mai matur decat cel cu care era obisnuit. Cand descopera si ca poate zbura, cu aripile "noptii", si ca adevarata sa chemare este meseria de hot, totul incepe sa ia o turnura dramatica. In plus, afla ca pasiunea pe care o simte fata de Risa are legatura si cu transformarea sa in Dark. Dark este in schimb tipul cuceritor, care e un fel de Don Juan al noptii. Ca nota suplimentara, Emiko, mama lui Daisuke, il iubeste cateodata mai mult pe Dark decat pe propriul sau fiu, si e vorba de acelasi sentiment de admiratie/love decat despre dragoste materna. In fond, Emiko a asteptat foarte mult timp sa-l vada pe Dark, si de aceea l-a antrenat pe Daisuke neincetat, trecandu-l prin fel si fel de experiente cu capcane amplasate conventional prin casa... Satoshi Hiwatari Familia ce de generatii intregi duce acel razboi impotriva lui Dark, are reprezentantii postati in functii importante de conducere, asa cum este sectia de politie, iar numele de familie este schimbat, pentru a-si ascunde identitatea. Satoshi este un fel de inspector, iar tatal sau este in fruntea fortelor de politie al caror scop este de a-l prinde pe Dark, vestitul hot pe care sute de politisti au visat sa-l prinda, de-a lungul secolelor. Printre altele, Satoshi este un baiat stralucit, cu o educatie foarte puternica, si care e coleg cu Daisuke. Ceea ce ii lipseste, insa, este forta de a-l "contine" pe Krad - Krad, desi un inger ce ar trebui sa fie bun, profita la maxim de inabilitatea lui Satoshi de a-si controla puterea, si astfel, Krad cateodata preia controlul prin forta, asupra corpului sau. Astfel, Satoshi se vede pus in situatia de a alege sa-l distruga pe colegul sau Daisuke, dand ascultare lui Krad, sau de a incerca sa devina prieteni, si sa opreasca nebunia acestui inger. Krad este opusul lui Dark. Acolo unde Dark incearca sa ajute, Krad incearca sa distruga, si nu-i pasa prea mult de efectele actiunilor sale, atat timp cat poate sa-si anihileze eternul dusman. Din fericire, atat pentru Daisuke, cat si pentru Dark, puterile lui Krad sunt limitate de vointa lui Satoshi de a nu se lasa controlat, iar Daisuke il ajuta mereu sa-si revina, chiar daca in mod normal, ar trebui sa fie dusmani de moarte. Surorile Harada O alta familie care isi are radacinile in trecutul comun Niwa - Hiwatari este Harada, iar in generatia prezenta exista doua surori gemene: Risa si Riku. Risa are o fire visatoare, si din start se indragosteste de Dark, ingerul Intunericului, facand tot posibilul pentru ca sa se intalneasca cu el si sa-si declare pasiunea. Dar... destinul a facut ca primul sarut al acestei generatii de Dark sa fie furat de catre Riku, sora ei geamana, care are o fire sportiva, si e cu capul pe pamant, cum se zice. In plus, dupa scurtul episod cu sarutul, Riku se fereste de Dark, dar iarasi destinul ii joaca feste si ei, fiindca se indragosteste de... Un alt aspect al relatiei dintre surori si Dark este ca ele devin Divine Maidens pentru acest inger, care apoi se poate transforma intre Daisuke-Dark cu un singur gand la persoana iubita. Asta nu face decat sa aduca si mai multe complicatii vietii simple pe care o avea Daisuke inainte, care intalneste un nou gen de problema in viata sa: girl trouble. In plus, este frustrant sa te gandesti ca adevaratul Daisuke o iubeste pe Risa, iar personalitatea sa duala, Dark, o place pe Riku. In cele din urma, vor trebui sa ajunga la o intelegere, iar in asta consta parte de romantism a serialului, fiind o poveste destul de reusita. Grafica Grafica este foarte reusita, si nu dezamageste niciodata, pe parcursul serialului. Peisajele sunt de multe ori realizate printr-o imbinare a 3D-ului cu pensula, iar animatia din acele momente da o senzatie clara de precizie a miscarii unei camere de luat vederi in 3D :). Deoarece Dark este un personaj al noptii, veti avea multe scene a orasului pe timp de noapte, cu toate lucrurile incluse in "pachet": cer instelat, luna plina, reflectoare ale politiei, etc., dar peisajele cele mai interesante sunt cele din timpul zilei/amurg, cand apare aproape mereu o combinatie deosebita de culori pe fundal, im mare parte si din cauza efectelor grafice. Exista niste efecte foarte reusite, de lens flare pentru soare, glow, pentru orice magie, ceata, fum, lasere si fulgere. Nu uitati si de flacarile de la inceput, care sunt unele dintre cele mai reusite pe care le-am vazut. Efectul meu preferat este cel in care apar penele de inger, considerate magice, si care fac diverse lucruri: se descompun in particule, creeaza tornade, lumina, etc. Veti observa ca majoritatea efectelor magice au loc in prezenta lui Dark, iar aripile sale sunt bine desenate. La partea de desenare a personajelor, trebuie remarcat parul, care straluceste mereu, in special al lui Dark (hint: Daisuke si Riku au aceeasi culoare a parului), iar hainele lui Dark sunt cat mai mulate pe corp. Este de inteles, fiind un master-thief, dar un inger ar fi trebuit sa poarte ceva mai interesant, asa cum face insa Krad, care respecta tiparul: par blond, aripi albe, haine albe, cu mantie, etc. Si Dark, si Krad au acele suvite rebele de par, care mereu stau intre ochi, pentru a nu le deranja vederea :P. Ochii personajelor sunt cateodata foarte bine realizati si expresivi, cum e cazul lui Krad, sau foarte enervanti, cum e cazul lui Risa, care sufera de sindromul ochilor prea mari. Nu se intampla tot timpul, si schimbarea de stil e notabila. Sunet Si asa, am ajuns la partea audio. Melodia "tematica" de la D.N.Angel o veti auzi aproape in fiecare episod, in momentele cele mai dramatice, si la mine a avut rolul de a ma enerva. Pur si simplu, nu imi placeau notele acelea de vioara. In mod similar, nu am ascultat de foarte multe ori melodia de intro, "Byakuya ~ True Light", de Miyamoto Shunichi, mi s-a parut foarte enervanta (se observa un pattern, nu?), in principal din cauza intonatiei vocii. Nu stiu exact ce s-ar fi potrivit mai bine ca intro, dar parerea mea e ca suna MULT prea dramatic acea melodie. Pe partea de endings, se pare ca devine o practica din ce in ce mai intalnita cea a ending-urilor multiple, ce se schimba cu sezonul (e de inteles la seriale mari), sau la fiecare 10 episoade: "Yasashii gogo" si "Hajimari no hi", de Minawo, si "Caged Bird" si "Michishirube", de Shunichi Miyamoto. Eu prefer pe cele cantate de Minawo. Ceea ce frapeaza este numarul de animeuri pe care le au la activ cei doi: doar 1. Minawo mai apare la "The Melody of Oblivion" (titlu obscur), iar Shunichi, pe langa faptul ca isi imprumuta vocea unui personaj in D.N.Angel, mai apare tot ca personaj, in Gundam Seed. In rest, coloana sonora din serial este reusita, avand muzica ambientala care se schimba dinamic, destul de des - cei care s-au ocupat de music production sunt Victor Entertainment, care au o lista impresionanta de seriale pe acest domeniu.

Unsurprisingly, crime has grown alongside technology, and thus the GOTT, Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs, is formed as a sort of universal police force. Within this organization, there is a special (and secret) branch known as the ES Force (ES standing for "Encounter of Shadow-work"), consisting of twelve young people that possess amazing superpowers. Each ES member operates with another as a team, and the series' focus is a team of two low-level members, Éclair and Lumière. As the series progresses, they start to see the darker side of GOTT and its secrets. Most of the central characters in the series are ES members of GOTT "Shadow Unit". The Shadow Unit is a group of superpowered individuals that acts as the elite enforcement division of GOTT and hence, of the Galactic Union. Their powers are ranked by "class", of which three are named in the series: C class is the lowest, S is high, and G is the highest. At the beginning of the series, it is believed that no ES member possesses G class abilities but it is later revealed to be false. ES members are organized in pairs of the same class and each is issued a customized and very advanced spaceship and a guard robot. The protagonists of the series are Éclair and Lumière, a C class pair of ES agents, who have a long back-story together from before joining GOTT. Their past is gradually revealed throughout the series as they come to realize and accept it. Their spaceship is called La Muse (French: The Muse) and their guard robot is Donnerschlag (German: Thunderclap); both are also part of their back-story. As ES members, Éclair and Lumière report directly to the chief of GOTT, Eclipse, a strict and collected woman whose orders they cannot disobey. Often accompanying them in the early episodes is the Galactic Union auditor Armbrust (German: Crossbow) who appears to have multiple hidden agendas. Other ES members are: Alv and Dvergr (S class), an arrogant pair who eventually become Éclair and Lumière's antagonists; Tweedledee and Tweedledum (S class), fraternal twins with a complicated relationship towards the protagonists; Viola and Cesario (C class) who are generally on good terms with Éclair and Lumière; Un-ou and A-ou (S class), former mercenaries with a long-standing rivalry with them; and Sinistra and Dextera (S class), a bishōnen pair held in high regard by all their colleagues for their professionalism. Also of note are Mercredi, Eclipse's personal assistant with a hidden agenda, and Chevalier d'Autriche, the Secretary General of GOTT whose past is intertwined with Éclair's.

She has grown up and become a prefect for the school with one main purpose: for vampires to coexist peacefully with humans. Her fellow guardian, Zero Kiryu, a childhood companion whose parents were killed by a pure-blood vampire, is now determined to kill them all and refuses to trust them. Zero himself is now manifesting vampire traits, having been turned into vampire after he was bitten by a pure-blood vampire, Shizuka Hio, four years before. Yuki tries to help him fight his bloodlust while also seeking to recover the memories she lost. As the series progresses, Zero's thirst for blood leads to his drinking from Yuki, by her consent, to avoid becoming a level E vampire. To stop this, Kaname gives Zero his own blood, making him a normal vampire which will prevent Zero from going insane and from needing to feed from Yuki. Eventually, it is revealed that Yuki is a pureblood vampire herself, the sister and fiancee of Kaname. To save Yuki from being killed by Rido Kuran, Kaname's uncle, her mother had sealed her memories shortly before her own death. After Yuki reawakens to her vampire nature, Rido again tries to kill her. As Kaname kills the vampire senate, Yuki fights Rido. During a fierce battle, Zero aids her in killing him, but later on tells her he will have to kill her one day.

Shuichi wants to become Japan's next big star, and follow in the footsteps of the famous idol Ryuichi Sakuma, lead singer of the now-disbanded legendary group Nittle Grasper. One evening, Shuuichi is looking over lyrics for a song he was writing when his paper is blown away by the wind and picked up by a tall, blonde stranger. The man dismisses Shuichi's hard work as garbage, which hurts Shuichi deeply. Despite his anger, he is intrigued by the stranger. This will be their first, but not last, encounter as Shuichi becomes fascinated by the stranger, who soon turns out to be the famous romance novelist, Eiri Yuki (real name: Uesugi). Both the manga and the anime follow this plot. The manga is a quirky blend of over-the-top humor (Reiji's giant panda robot destroying parts of New York, Shuichi's explosive nosebleeds and ridiculous declarations of love, K's machine gun wake-up calls, Tohma's half-teasing come-ons, etc) and yaoi. The storyline is just serious enough to be compelling, but also contains elements of parody. The characters are often thrown into insane situations and in some scenes the art style is dramatically overdone for comedic effect, one of many of Murakami sensei's well know traits and characteristics in her manga styles. The art style of the manga is notably different in volumes 1-5 than it is in volumes 6-12. The first half of the series has a more "old-fashioned" style that slowly changes and becomes noticeably different by volumes 6-7. The second half features cleaner lines, and more polished and stylish appearance. This also appears in the sequel, Gravitation EX, where each character's drawing style is drastically changed. For some, it's not very much except a little lolita-fication, but for others, you may have to see the name before you can recognize them. For example, Mika (Tohma's wife) was last seen in the early stages of pregnancy whereas now there is no visable evidence of such a state. There is also Shuichi's sister Maiko.

However, she runs into difficulties as soon as she arrives. She gets lost on her way to the Stage, is leered at by a mysterious stranger, and has her bag stolen by a nimble thief. Employing her acrobatic skills, Sora chases down the criminal. A kind police officer gives her a ride to Kaleido Stage, but she discovers that she's missed her audition. Her idol, the star performer Layla Hamilton, advises her to return to Japan but a performer's unexpected injury provides Sora with a window of opportunity. She's given the rare chance to perform by the Stage's owner, Kalos (who turns out to be a mysterious man who had eyed her legs earlier). After a faltering effort, Sora is dismissed from Kaleido Stage and prepares to return to Japan, but then Kalos reconsiders, and lets Layla know that someday Sora's performance will be the main draw at the circus. Sora spends the beginning of the season as an outcast, as the other performers believe that she had relations with the director to gain her position. Layla is particularly cold towards her, and sees her alternately as either an annoyance or a threat. With the help of her friends (stage manager Ken Robbins, the performers Mia Guillem and Anna Heart, and young Marion Begnini) as well as a lot of hard work and determination, Sora begins to earn the respect of those around her. Her incredible personality wins her a variety of friendships (including that of a baby seal!) as well as several increasingly major roles in the productions. Over time, she even manages to form a friendship with Layla. However, things begin to go astray as Layla's father pressures her to leave and insiders plot to take over and shut down Kaleido Stage. Sora must rely on her winning personality, hard work and close friendships to keep the stage afloat. New Wings In the second season Sora returns to the stage after attempting the Legendary Great Maneuver with Layla. This leaves Layla's shoulder injured and unable to perform. The absence of her co-star, having retired to further a career in Broadway productions, prompts a slight decline of the Kaleido Stage. Because of this Kalos brings in a new recruit, Leon Oswald (a lofty trapeze artist). It seems at first that Leon is reminded very much of someone due to Sora's presence, and at times this causes him to either be really rude or really sweet to Sora. Despite this, however, Leon does not accept Sora as worthy of being on the stage with him. This leads to the most talented of the new Kaleido Stage recruits (the Chinese May Wong, who is also an ex-figure skater) to question and challenge Sora's position as Leon's partner and star of the show. Sora's first goal in the season is to attend the circus festival in Paris, but the competitors will do anything to attain the title of 'festival winner': betray, deceive, or even attack their opposers. The atmosphere and attitude this creates does not bode kindly to Sora's carefree, optimistic, ultra-idealistic outlook. It in turn causes her to withdraw from the competition in the middle of her act (or the Angel Act) with the redeemed Yuri Killian, leaving friends, family and, worst of all, Layla confused and otherwise disappointed with Sora. Most of the season concentrates on Sora finding, questioning, and pursuing new dreams. After many trials and rejections, Sora aims to become a "True Kaleido Star" while creating a fun, conflict-free stage, the complete opposite of what she experiences at the festival in Paris. The Amazing Princess Without a Smile The first OVA looks at a new production in the works that follows the Kaleido Stage's success with Swan Lake, about a female princess that is unable to smile and a jester of hers that is hoping to bring her smile back. The idea for the production came to Mia from a painting that featured a character that looked very similar to Rosetta and a jester in the background that looked surprisingly like Fool (the stage spirit that can be seen only by very talented students). Rosetta is assigned the lead role as the princess. Unfortunately, despite the likeliness of her being able to comprehend the role fully as she herself never carried a smile when she first came to Kaleido Stage, she has difficulties acting out the part and leaves the rehearsals mid-way frustrated. Will Rosetta be able to play the role right? What ties does Fool have with the painting of the princess and the jester? Legend of Phoenix ~Layla Hamilton Monogatari~ Layla and Sora are about to launch different interpretations of the same show "Legend of Phoenix" on opposite coasts. Layla is preparing at the Broadway but is dissatisfied with her performance. She feels that she cannot perform the role properly if she is not truly reborn as a new Layla Hamilton. In a desperate attempt to be reborn, Layla runs off on a solo bicycle trip to upstate New York in hopes of rediscovering herself. Meanwhile, Sora is also attempting to find her own Phoenix, but when she learns of Layla's disappearance she, Ken and May run off to New York to find the former Kaleido Star who at that instant was on a bike journey with no set destination. Layla meets various strangers and reminisces memories of her childhood along the way as she thinks of how she can change herself. But while she tries to find a new self, she spends her entire time alone thinking about Sora until she comes to realize just how much Sora has been a muse to her. Once she realizes that, she is reborn. The nature of this revelation, though speculated in different ways by various fans, is up to interpretation. During the end credits, we are shown two different Phoenixes. Good day yo! Goood!! Good day yo! Goood!! is a 22 minutes OVA that is rendered by computer graphics. All of the characters are presented super deformed. The OVA is split up into three parts. The first part is a lesson in Chinese cooking presented by May Wong; the dish that is presented is mapo doufu. The second part is a lesson on how to use the diabolo by Rosetta Passel. The final part is a lesson in seal lingo presented by Marion and Jonathan to Sora.

Voiced by: Kaori (Japanese), Kelly Sheridan (English) The other "Nana" of the series, alongside Nana Osaki, this Nana comes to Tokyo looking to find her dream. Unlike Osaki, however, she comes from a large and happy household, though her childish outlook prevents her from living on her own initially. She always falls in love at first sight. Due to her kindness and faithfulness, Nana Osaki nicknames her "Hachi", after the dog Hachikō (ハチ公, Hachikō?). Additionally, "hachi" means the number "eight" in Japanese, while "nana" is one reading for "seven". Later she becomes pregnant in between dating Takumi and Nobu. Although she was in love with Nobu, she chooses to stay with Takumi since he could readily provide for the child's upbringing. In the last episode of anime, Hachi has a daughter named Satsuki that has the same hair colour as Takumi.

kai miyagusuku miyagusuku kai?) is saya's adopted Kai Miyagusuku (宮城 カイ, Miyagusuku Kai?) is Saya's adopted "elder" brother. Once a popular student at school and a star athlete, he quits playing baseball shortly before Saya's arrival and has been getting into more fights at school. His father's death forces him to grow up and try his best keep his family united. He struggles greatly over Saya, and later Riku, not being human. As he finally comes to terms with both, Riku is raped and killed by Diva, and Saya disappears for a year. As the last surviving family member of Saya's adoptive family, he has sworn to protect her and return to Okinawa with her once everything has been settled. Towards the end of the series he convinces Hagi to confess his feelings to Saya. Initially Kai has little skill in fighting or marksmanship, but he improves as the series goes on. When George is kidnapped, Kai steals his father's M1911 pistol to try to rescue him. David confiscates it, but later returns it to show that he feels Kai had matured enough to handle it. Kai uses it as his primary weapon for the remainder of the series. After the destruction of the Red Shield, he lives with Lewis and David in an orphanage in London, actively hunting chiropterans with Lewis and honing his skills as a soldier in the war against Diva and her minions. With David drowning in alcohol and regret, Kai takes over many of his responsibilities in chiropteran-hunting. Following the tradition of Red Shield, Kai wears a diamond-shaped pendant with a crystal from Riku's remains crested in it. After Saya kills Diva, he is able to convince her to continue living, and prompts Hagi to "disobey" Saya and confess his own love for her. Saya and Kai return to Okinawa and reopen their late father's restaurant. A month later, Saya goes into her hibernation cycle and Kai puts her in the family crypt to sleep. Per his promise to Saya, he raises Diva's daughters as though they were his own. Together, they regularly visit Saya's grave to keep an eye on her while she sleeps.

at first glance, kaname appears to be a normal high school student. the discovery of her whisperedAt first glance, Kaname appears to be a normal 16-year-old high school student. Unfortunately, the discovery of her Whispered abilities attracts the attention of terrorist organizations. As a result, Sousuke Sagara is assigned by Mithril to protect her. While Sagara's battle intuition generally saves her from dangerous situations, she often considers his instincts irritating in the daily high school events, leading to countless comical situations. Nonetheless, she and Sousuke continue to grow closer. Kaname's Whispered abilities also grant her an inherent knowledge (but not necessarily understanding) of advanced mathematics and science. It is no surprise that she consistently achieves top scores in these subjects at school. Her abilities as a Whispered, however, have their limitations. She does not know the full extent of her abilities and sometimes enters a near-trance, in which she gains a complete understanding of Black Technology. Kaname is very easy to anger, especially considering Sousuke's behaviour. A majority of the stunts pulled by Sousuke will cause Kaname to go into a fit of rage and either hit Sousuke or chew him out. However, she has a soft spot for him and when he does a good job she will often cook for him or give him a compliment. She is constantly battling for Sousuke with Teletha Tessa Testarossa, although the two usually end up either making fools of themselves or hurting him. Kaname's bravery and determination came to a head in the climax of the novel Continuing on My Own. Following Sosuke's defeat by the hands of Leonard Testarossa, she gives herself up to Leonard and Amalgam to save his life. As she is picked up by the Belial's giant hand, she whispers something to Sousuke before being whisked off. After being taken by Leonard, she is imprisoned by Amalgam at an island villa. In the novel Come Make My Day, Sousuke arrives at the island in order to save her, but is unable to do so as she is taken away in a helicopter. In the most recent novel, Semaru Nick of Time, the origin of the Whispered is revealed to be caused by an accident during a Soviet experiment using an Omni-Sphere that occurred on December 24, 1984, when all the Whispered were born. Leonard Testarossa takes Kaname back to the Omni-Sphere after recovering from wounds in Come Make My Day. She is then forced to resonate with Sophia, a key Whispered, who overtakes Kaname's personality. Under Sophia's control, Kaname is shown the illusion of shooting and killing Tessa and Sousuke, and then leaves with Leonard for Merida Island, where Amalgam has built a machine to utilize the final ability of the Whispered. The character is based on Shoji Gatoh's real-life friend, whose name is also Kaname Chidori
