at the start of the series, a young girl named ichigo momomiya attends an endangered species exhibitAt the start of the series, a young girl named Ichigo Momomiya attends an endangered species exhibit with her 'crush' and future boyfriend, Masaya Aoyama. After an earthquake, Ichigo and four other girls are bathed in a strange light. A cat appears before Ichigo, then merges with her. The next day she begins acting like a cat and, after meeting Ryou Shirogane and Keiichiro Akasaka, learns that she was infused with the DNA of the Iriomote Cat. Ryou and Keiichiro explain that this allows her to transform into Mew Ichigo, a powerful heroic cat girl. She is ordered to defeat chimera animas—alien parasites—which infect animals and turn them into monsters. Ryou and Keiichiro instruct Ichigo to find the four other girls from the exhibit—the remaining Mew Mews. They are Mint Aizawa, a spoiled, wealthy girl who is infused with the genes of the Ultramarine Lorikeet; Lettuce Midorikawa, a meek girl who endures constant bullying and absorbs the genes of the Finless Porpoise; young Pudding Fong, who receives the genes of the Golden Lion Tamarin; and Zakuro Fujiwara, a professional model infused with the genes of the Gray Wolf. The five Mew Mews battle the chimera animas and their alien controllers, Kish, Pie and Tart. Kish claims to be in love with Ichigo; he tries to gain her love despite the fact that he is trying to eliminate the other Mew Mews. Two more aliens, Pie and Tart, later join Kish in trying to destroy the Mew Mews. As the fighting intensifies, the Mew Mews are tasked with finding "mew aqua," a material created from pure water that contains immense power for combating the alien attacks. During a battle with Kish at an aquarium, Ichigo is in danger of losing when the mysterious Blue Knight appears and rescues her. He returns periodically throughout the series, protecting Ichigo from various dangers; it is later revealed that the Blue Knight is in fact Masaya. Shortly after this discovery, Masaya collapses and transforms again, into Deep Blue—the alien leader who wants to destroy humanity. After explaining to Ichigo that Masaya was a false form for temporary use, Deep Blue attacks the Mew Mews. Masaya's personality briefly reappears and he uses a nearby mew aqua drop to destroy Deep Blue, killing himself in the process. Crying over his body, Ichigo pours her power into Masaya to save his life, losing her own in the process. Masaya kisses her, changing her back to a human, and revives her. Ryou gives Pie the remaining mew aqua to save the aliens' world, after which Kish, Pie and Tart say their goodbyes and return to their own world.

Their special ES division mirrored after the GOTT's ES (Encounter of Shadow-work) force, now includes publicly acknowledged ES member candidates. The series follows two such trainees, Ascoeur and Q-feuille, as they work their way to ES membership. Ascoeur (アスクール, asukūru?) is the protagonist of the series, born August 10, SC0363 (Star Century 0363). Relative to the series' predecessor Kiddy Grade, she retains elements of Éclair's personality: her recklessness and simple nature, in addition to being spastic and childish. While she and Q-feuille are ES member candidates, they are currently waitresses for the Touch & Go! cafe within the GTO headquarters. Her special ability, "Push-Pull," is teleportation. While powered-up by Dia's kiss she is able to teleport further, faster and while carrying multiple bodies. Her name is French for "have heart." Q-feuille (ク・フィーユ, ku fīyu?) is the series' deuteragonist, born September 21, SC0363. She has qualities reminiscent of Lumière: her intelligence and serious nature, in addition to a heightened sensitivity to embarrassment. Like Ascoeur, is an ES member candidate, but currently works as a waitress for the Touch & Go! cafe. Her special ability, "Parfum," is foresight, but is seldom used as it seems to be weak. However, with Dia's kiss she is able to predict actions with precision. Though she should be sixteen-years-old, she reveals to Dia that she is seven-years-old. Her name is from the french "Quatre Feuille" or "Four leaf", as in clover.

eight years prior to the time shuffle! takes place, both of rin's parents and kaede's mother areEight years prior to the time Shuffle! takes place, both of Rin's parents and Kaede's mother are killed in a car accident. Kaede became traumatized from the incident, losing her will to live. Rin overheard the doctor saying that she needed a reason to keep living. Rin then went to Kaede and told her that on the night of the accident, he was lonely and phoned his parents, asking them to come back. Since his parents and Kaede's mother rode in the same car, he essentially told Kaede that it was his fault that her mother died. This caused Kaede to harbor a deep hatred for Rin. Upon emerging from her stupor, she began to choke him. Since Kaede's father decided to take Rin into their home, Rin constantly had to endure Kaede's hatred of him, including her vengeful acts such as destroying Rin's room and attempting to hurt him. Later, some time during their junior high years, Kaede found a postcard while rummaging through Rin's possessions after destroying Rin's model ship. The postcard sparked her memory of the night of the accident, and she remembered that the reason her mother (and Rin's parents) came back was because she had a fever, and she had asked her father to call her mother home. This meant that her mother's death was to be blamed on Kaede herself, rather than Rin. Rin rushed in just as she finished reading the postcard, but he was too late to prevent Kaede from remembering everything and feeling deep guilt for her actions. In order to atone for her actions in the past, Kaede decided to make herself Rin's personal servant by cooking his meals and doing all the work around the house. Rin does not want this, but he is afraid of causing Kaede a relapse by not allowing her to punish herself in this way. Lycoris, Nerine's twin sister, gave Primula her beloved cat doll when they met, as they were both experimented on by the gods and demons who wished to achieve artificial life. Primula was the third to be tested on and was the only one to have been created completely artificially. After hearing about him from Lycoris, Primula had always wished to meet Rin. Their first meeting occurs in the second episode of the anime. Although Primula finds it difficult to verbally express her emotions, upon meeting Rin, Primula hugs him and continues to hold onto him all the way to Rin's house, prompting Itsuki to make a comment concerning Rin's taste. Because Primula has no home in the human world, she would later live with Rin and Kaede, as Primula really wants to live with Rin. For a while, the kings and their daughters are somewhat concerned; ultimately, however, Primula ends up staying. The two Kings are shocked to see Primula in the human world, but don't mind Primula living with Rin, as they feel that Rin can help bring out Primula's emotions (which Rin is eventually somewhat successful in accomplishing). Throughout the series, Primula develops a closer bond with Rin, as well as with Kaede and the other girls. Whenever she sees Rin going on a date with another girl, Primula can tell that it affects Kaede. This problem is explained later on in the series. Primula's powers are controlled by her emotions. As a result, when she is first introduced in Shuffle!, Primula does not let her emotions show on her face; the first time she smiles is when Rin gives her a new cat doll. When Primula starts to gain better control of her powers/emotions later on, she begins smiling more frequently. Because of all these new emotions, her magic goes out of control for a while, but eventually she is able to contain it once more, thanks to Lycoris' brief reappearance. At the end, Primula lives with Kaede in the Fuyou household and enrolls in the Verbana Academy with Rin and the others; she basically becomes the narrator for the last part of the season finale. Like all the other girls in the end, Primula still does love Rin. One scene involves Primula giving Rin some special food (herb roll, extra bitter edition) that was drugged, ending up with him falling onto Primula with her rubbing against him and hugging him. A scene in the anime's final ending credits depicts Primula losing a card game against the God and Demon King, prompting her to blow up the room with her magic in retaliation.

He is generally blunt and rude to those around him and has a fairly negative view on people and life in general. His good looks and charm make him popular with women and his female fanbase whove given him the nickname of 'cool beauty' , but he doesn't make any emotional attachments with the women he gets involved with. He eventually agrees to a relationship with Shuichi (who refers to him as Yuki). Eiri suffers from psychological problems, mostly stemming from when he was almost brutally raped and was forced to kill to defend his life when he was a teenager. He only resists Shuichi because his past has affected him so much that he's afraid to let anyone in again. In the beginning, he's very cruel to Shuichi but eventually he gives way and little by little begins to let him in and nor dos he want to have shuichi hurt or even possibly killed since his brother in-law Tohma "discards any toy he believes is not good in anyway to Eiri". Yuki eventually admits to himself that he loves Shuichi in the manga, but the animated series only highlights certain areas of the relationship's development. He then is very kind to Shuichi and even though he occasionally refers to him as stupid, (he typically acts like a "tough guy" in public and tries to act like he unconcerned with Shuichi) it's very apparent that the two love each other. He blames himself for Shuichi being beaten and raped by one of the band A.S.K's members and his hired thugs. Eiri also teeters from being nice to Shuichi, but whenever Tohma, his arranged fiance Ayaka, or his family get involved in the matter he treats him badly because they convince him that he will only be hurt. In the end he overcomes this and the pair find happiness in their own way.

under the care of her adoptive family, saya otonashi has been living the life of an anemic andUnder the care of her adoptive family, Saya Otonashi has been living the life of an anemic and amnesiac, but otherwise ordinary schoolgirl. Saya’s happy life is shattered when she is attacked by a chiropteran, learning that she is the only one who can defeat them. Armed with her katana, Saya embarks on a journey with her family, allies, and her chevalier, Haji, to rid the world of chiropteran and rediscover her identity. The course of the journey reveals the background history of the chiropterans and Saya's very deep past, which extends into the mid-19th century. The series is initially set in present day (September 2005) Okinawa City (Koza), on Okinawa Island, near the US Kadena Air Base. In the course of the series, Saya visits locations across the world, fighting enemy chiropteran and searching for her origins. Saya Otonashi, the central character, is a seemingly ordinary teenage girl adopted and living with amnesia. As her memories return, her life is turned upside down. She was born in 1833, survives on the blood of others, and is destined to destroy chiropterans and her twin sister Diva. Aiding her in her quest are her adopted brothers Kai and Riku and her ever-faithful chevalier Hagi. She also is aided by David, her protector from the powerful organization Red Shield. Diva also has her own helpers, starting with her five powerful chevaliers: Amshel, Solomon, Karl, James and Nathan. They also have their own human allies as part of the Cinq Flèches Group that they operate, including Van Argiano who helps them develop the Delta 67 substance that Cinq Flèches uses to create chiropteran. Working against both sides are the Schiff, a group of escaped artificial chiropteran created by Diva's group. The Schiff attack both groups, believing that the blood of Saya, Diva, or one of their chevaliers will save them from a fatal and painful disease they call the Thorn. Chiropterans Chiropterans are hematophagous bat-like creatures that live by feeding on human blood. They generally possess extraordinary speed, strength, and supernatural healing abilities. They are also capable of contorting and transforming various body parts in order to fly or have longer limbs and higher level chiropterans have the ability to disguise themselves as ordinary humans. As chiropterans can heal almost instantly from most wounds, bullets are non-lethal and only useful in slowing them down. Even explosions do not seem to be capable of killing them, though if buried or sealed inside stone they will go into hibernation until freed. Chiropterans are created from the blood of a queen and, ironically, it is also the primary method of killing them. When the blood of another queen is introduced into a chiropteran's bloodstream, it starts a crystallizing chain-reaction that destroys them. Thus, chiropterans created from Diva's blood can be killed by Saya's blood, and vice versa. Through human experimentation with Diva's blood, a substance called "Delta 67" was created. When "Delta 67" is introduced into the blood stream of humans, they change into chiropterans. This transformation is catalyzed by Diva's singing. As they are all formed from Diva's blood, they can be killed through the induction of Saya's blood. Artificial chiropterans The most basic form of chiropteran are created from the straight infusion of Delta 67 into a human host. The human host quickly loses their human intelligence and memories, transforming into a creature resembling a horse-headed gorilla with fangs. Phase 1 chiropteran live and act purely on instinct, hunting and killing humans, and sometimes animals, for their blood. Through the research efforts of Dr. Boris and Amshel, higher level, artificial chiropteran were created from the Delta 67. These are collectively called the Schiff. Unlike Phase 1 chiropteran, the Schiff have human level intelligence and emotions, though somewhat stunted by having lived most of their lives caged. They are aggressive due to their training and subjection to experiments. Exposed to other ways of living after escaping the lab, they learn to adapt. The Schiff are unique among the chiropteran as they die when exposed to direct sunlight. They also suffer from a condition called Thorn, which slowly crystallizes their blood and kills them. Diva's group uses the genetic template of Moses, the leader of the Schiff, to create an improved and obedient version of the Schiff called the Corpse Corps. Like the Schiff, the Corpse Corps are capable fighters with bladed weapons. They are marketed to various national military organizations as "chiropteran exterminators", despite being chiropteran themselves. Chevaliers Chevaliers are the second highest level of chiropterans in terms of strength and ability. They are created when a human drinks the blood of a queen. A powerful bond exists between each chevalier and the Queen that sired them, compelling the chevaliers to serve and protect her at all costs. Chevaliers have even greater speed, strength and endurance than regular chiropterans. Though they retain the appearance in body form and age that they had when they were transformed, chevaliers have vast shape-shifting abilities. They can transform into unique forms resembling regular chiropterans, either entirely or limited to specific body parts, and can transform into the humans they have fed upon. They heal instantly from almost any non-lethal wound, though severe wounds will temporarily cause an increase in their need for blood. As with regular chiropterans, chevaliers can be killed with the blood of the opposite queen; however, the crystallization takes longer and it is possible to prevent death by removing the crystallizing body parts. A chevalier can also be killed by beheading or burning their whole body. Queens Queens, also called the originals, are the first chiropterans. In any given generation, there are always two Queens, who are female twins born from one of the last Queens, and they are naturally antagonistic with one another. Saya and Diva are the current Queens of their species. They were discovered by Joel Goldschmidt in the 19th century inside a mysterious creature found in Iceland known as SAYA. In his experiment, he raised Saya like a daughter, but kept Diva locked away in a tower with virtually no human contact, or even a name. All other chiropterans are born of the blood of Queens, either through the queen's own efforts or human experimentation. Unlike all other chiropterans, Queens appear to retain a human appearance at all times, though they can change their human appearances somewhat. Their blood can also crystallize and destroy any chiropteran of any level that was created by their sister queen. Queens spend only a few years awake at any given time, between decades of hibernation within a cocoon. Queens have enhanced speed, strength, and endurance that surpasses those of their chevaliers and other chiropterans. They may also have some shape-shifting abilities, though during the series their abilities seem to be limited to modifying to their outward human appearance. The strength of a queen's traits are dependent on their feeding regularly on human blood. As such, Diva, who freely feeds on humans, can also freely use all of her abilities, while Saya, who avoids feeding, is usually only slightly above human level strength. When a Queen becomes pregnant with the next generation of Queens, her blood will lose its dangerous qualities. A queen can only be impregnated by a chevalier created by her sister queen, ensuring the purity of the species is maintained.

She appears as one of the main female characters in the first Shuffle! visual novel and in Really? Really!, the third in the series. Asa is a senior attending Verbana Academy and is in her last year of high school. This makes her at least 1 year older than Rin and Kaede and is good friends with both of them, having met when they met her while she was in Junior High. Taking Kaede under her wing, she trained Kaede to be an excellent cook like herself and as time passed by she would teach her some new recipes to try out for Rin. At the moment she currently lives with her mother. From time to time she'll flirt with Rin, tease him, and give him a nice big slap on the back. However, it was later revealed that there were numerous guys who had a secret crush on her. Nevertheless, nothing much came out of it as she rejected them and the show didn't delve any deeper into the issue. Oddly enough for a girl as feminine as she is, Asa uses the polite-masculine pronoun of "boku" when referring to herself rather than the traditionally feminine "atashi." She was nicknamed Shocking Shigure much to her dismay, because while her cooking skills are amazing, it is in stark contrast to her boyish image. In spite of her mild tomboy tendencies, Asa is warm hearted and caring girl who show is capable of motherly kindness.

Though very loyal to Kaname, he has a tendency to overstep his boundaries, which results in Kaname punishing him, if discovered. Aidou was the one that figured out Zero is a vampire, though he keeps this information to himself without any hidden agenda. He is very cunning to uncover many things, like the reason why Kaname's parents were murdered. Because of Aidou's stubbornness, he tends to go out of line. At one point, while Yuuki dealt with two day class girls (one of whom was bleeding) who violated the nighttime curfew, he and Kain suddenly appear and Yuuki becomes alert. Yuuki was afraid of what they might do to those girls but Aidou tells her that they came especially to see Yuuki. Yuuki swung down from a tree and scraped open her hands, and the scent of her blood attracted them. Aidou bites her hand, and drinks her blood. He was going to bite her neck but is stopped by Zero Kiryuu. Luckily, the two girls fainted and were taken to the chairman to have their memories modified. Currently riding on a train, he, Ruka and Akatsuki are on their way home to see their families for a little while, after deciding that they would search for Kaname and Yuuki after their short visit. After the one year time skip, Aidou is seen to be Yuuki's personal teacher.
